Why do I ever watch tv? It only makes me mad.
For instance, I happened across Glenn Beck's show. He was (almost gleefully, it seemed) declaring that WWIII obviously has now begun in the Mideast (as Newt Gingrich has been doing, too, recently). So, it was, of course, time for Beck to draw up sides.
For Beck, there were three groups: the "Allies" (the US), the "Axis" (they're the evil ones), and (worst of all) the "Spineless Worms." The plan was to name a country, and stick it into the correct group.
Derrida would have loved this little exercise.
As it turned out, for Beck, everyone but the United States (and maybe Israel) is pretty much in the "Axis of Evil." This, perhaps, includes Great Britain, according to him, since they have so many of those scarey Muslims. Switzerland is the spineless country.
If this rhetoric keeps up, I worry that we may actually see WWIII around the corner. (It would do wonders, however, for the Republicans in the midterm elections. That's what seems to matter.)
I'm definitely not decided on it, but Christian anarchism looks better to me every day.

Wedding Stuff
Well, Kalyn's and BJ's wedding is over. I am, perhaps, a little biased, but I thought it was rather the best wedding ever. It was really nice.
The music was all contemporary, but it had sort of a classic feel.
Everybody looked good, even if my tux didn't fit well.
The sermon was the best wedding sermon I've ever heard.
And the narrative thingy went ok. I thought about posting it all here, but I'm not going to. It was meant to be oral. But it was good. We had people laughing and crying at the same time. That's how it should be.
I'm really glad it's over.

I was scanning over the CNN site to see if there was anything that I wanted to read about. There wasn't.
One headline, however, seemed a little peculiar:
"Timberlake: I want to 'push the sound' of poop."
And I happily thought that Justin Timberlake and CNN had decided to start being honest.
I looked at it again, though, and of course, that "poop" was really "pop." The maleness of my mind had just sort of skewed my reading I guess. That would have been funny though.
